About me…
I’m Rick Byrne — a cabinet maker and joiner specialising in bespoke free standing and fitted furniture and joinery.
After serving my time working on domestic and commercial premises, as a carpenter and joiner after leaving school, I later studied furniture craft and modern finishing at hull college, winning a student award for my work, before continuing to work around the country as a shopfitter.
With byrne the maker, I am able to bring extensive experience I gained from working on high-end shop and office fit-outs around the country — including projects in London’s Mayfair and Savile Row. Working with numerous different hardwoods and premium finishes, I developed a keen understanding of how to build spaces that combine craftsmanship, durability, and refined design.
Every project is made by hand in my small workshop, combining traditional craftsmanship with a modern design sensibility. Whether it’s a fitted media unit, a boot room bench, or a one-off commission, I put the same attention to detail into each piece.
